Ellipsis Health is creating cutting-edge AI/ML products that solve healthcare staffing issues and administrative burdens using conversational AI and our patented voice biomarker technology in the delivery of better healthcare for everyone. We are currently looking for a seasoned web app developer with significant experience in building commercial-grade consumer-facing web apps that leverage Machine Learning tools and technologies. This is a technical leadership role and you will work closely with our CTO to create an engaging and easy to use healthcare app using ReactJS, Firebase, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Speech-to-Text, LLM, Text-to-Speech, etc. It is a great opportunity to build the next generation of our app that will be used by millions of users all over the world.

Ellipsis Health is located in the San Francisco Bay Area, but we are open to remote candidates for this role preferably in the US or Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES

​

• Build and enhance Ellipsis Health's latest AI/ML product on mobile and desktop browsers

• Play the role of a full-stack engineer and write backend business logic interfacing with industry's leading LLMs (i.e. roughly 60 % backend and 40% frontend)

• Create unit tests and work with the QA team to ensure high quality

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Development, and Customer Success teams to incorporate new features in the app

• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers

• Participate in operating the service and meeting out SLA

QUALIFICATIONS

​​

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science

• 5+ years of experience working on commercial, consumer-facing web apps

• Expert knowledge of ReactJS, Node.js, HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript

• Industry experience with NextJS, OAuth2, JWT, REST APIs, RDBMS/SQL, NoSQL, Data Modeling/Schema

• Familiarity with Machine Learning, LLM APIs, RAG, LangChain/LlamaIndex, etc.

• Excellent grasp of algorithms, data structures, and CS concepts such as asynchronous processing, multi-threading, queuing, pub-sub, etc.

• Experience working with large scale SaaS offerings

• Experience with public clouds (GCP/AWS/Azure). GCP preferred.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with Agentic AI / Chatbot / Voice Bot

• Experience with backend technologies such as Google Firebase, Kafka, S3, ElasticSearch

• Experience working in Healthcare

• Knowledge of FHIR, HL7, and HIPAA or other regulatory standards (e.g. SOC-2, HITRUST)
